Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney, the only child of the United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four siblings. While she had a childhood goal of becoming journalist, it wasn't until high school that she began modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining an experience working with commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters.
