Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. The following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 two new singles titled No One and pedigree. She was featured with Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later she released the song as a solo single to the album she released her debut. In February of 2019, her music video to the song was released. The song has received over three million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
